It’s often the first questions we ask: “How are you feeling?” Sometimes we plan to do something but then don’t because “I’m just not feeling it.” Also, you can count on the followup question from a journalist to be: “and how did that make you feel?" A few months ago the Guardian newspaper headlined: “Instinct and emotion have overtaken facts and reason in the digital age.”
If this sounds like I’m about to introduce a series on feelings that discounts emotions or denies the power of moods – it’s not! it’s a series about putting feelings in their place – a place where they do not damage you (or people in your life). This series will help some of us connect with our emotions, and help others to not be victimized by our emotions. God made us emotional beings. He also shows us in the Bible that we actually get to choose how we feel.
This will be a fun but very personally helpful series that would be great to invite someone to...because we all have feelings, and all of us are at our best when we’re in charge of them. Join and bring a friend to a feeling friendly environment.
