Our partnership with the Daily Bread Food Bank has allowed us to continue to make an impact to our community during this Covid season.
Sanctuary Toronto Highlight
OneChurch.to is helping to support a Toronto based para-church organization called Sanctuary. We will be providing care packages to community members who have been hit even harder because of COVID-19.
Organization Summaries
This year we have total goal of raising $13,000 to help support our local focus.
Daily Bread Food Bank – $2000
[supports Community Connections] The Daily Bread Food Bank is one of Canada’s largest food banks and a leading organization locally, provincially and nationally on issues about hunger, life on low income, housing, and income security.
[supports Community Connections] Second Harvest is a Canadian food rescue organization and a global thought leader on food recovery. They work across the supply chain from farm to retail to capture surplus food before it ends up in the landfill which negatively impacts our environment.
[retirement home] Shepherd Village is Toronto’s largest not-for-profit seniors community. They meet the changing physical, spiritual and social needs of seniors through quality care and compassionate service.
[aiding those who are pregnant with no support network] The Scarborough Pregnancy Care Centre provides an array of pregnancy services to individuals who are met with an unexpected pregnancy, helping pregnant women know that they are not alone.
Christmas Gifts for 15 Small Church Pastors – $3000
[Francophone, Anglophone & First Nations] small communities. Often these remote locations require great measures of sacrifice in order to stay open. Our gift helps these families remember that there are people who care about them and stand with them.
The Yonge Street Mission – $2000
[Addressing issues of poverty, housing and work in the city of Toronto] Yonge Street Mission is focused on working to respond to immediate needs and help people move from surviving to thriving. They are focused on helping people rise out of poverty and realize their full potential.
[Hospice Care] Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care provides respite, practical, physical, emotional and spiritual support for people living with life-threatening illnesses and their loved ones, in the comfort of their own home.
[Addressing issues of poverty, housing and work in the city of Toronto] The Scott Mission offers support and provisions for the homeless, low-income families, and children and youth. They meet the needs of people with love and compassion and seek to bring spiritual, physical, and emotional wholeness to their lives.
Covenant House is the largest agency in Canada serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk. They are advocates so that all youth can have lives free from homelessness and trafficking.
