For followers of Jesus, communion is a moment to celebrate the greatest act of love that we’ve ever experienced. We celebrate Jesus’ rescue plan to save us from a death penalty by taking it himself - and then give us His power over death by rising again. And the word “we” means something to us: this is something that the church has celebrated together ever since Jesus first shared communion with his closest followers. Jesus did this to bring us new and lasting life and to adopt us into His family. This is a celebration that we do together.
If you’re a follower of Jesus, we’re glad to have you take a seat at the communion table with us. We normally celebrate in our gatherings - to be reminded of what Jesus has done in the context of the family he has placed us in. If you’re unable to participate with us in our gatherings, we encourage you to use the video, below, to take a moment to participate together with your friends, family, community group or other followers of Jesus - in the same room or even over a video call. If nobody is available to participate with you, we want the very act of taking communion this way to be a reminder to you that you are truly not alone but part of a family of Jesus followers that connects over the table of communion continually.
All you need to participate is a small piece of bread and some juice (or if not, feel free to substitute another piece of food and drink) and a few minutes to follow along in this video.
