Why We Pray

It is a great privilege to pray; to bring before a God who deeply loves us, our cares, needs and requests. We believe that when we pray, God hears, and because we have prayed, we have advanced God’s purposes into desperate situations. We can pray personally and privately, and as a faith community, across our campuses we can pray for each other. We welcome your requests and you are also invited to pray with us.

This prayer has been answered!

M. Elizabeth Sherk

News from my sister Ruth re. her spinal stenosis consultation with the surgeon in London, On yesterday: She and her husband are grateful for the kindness, the competence and the egoless confidence of the physician who examined her. Ruth asked him, "Can you help me?" He answered calmly without ego..."Yes, I do 150 of these surgeries a year and most people are helped unless there is some other untreated underlying issue." We continue in prayer for her and many others in our circles who are suffering from age-related arthritic pain. Jesus is the compassionate and powerful healer of pain. Jesus also assures us that even though we are walking through valleys of pain and shadow, we do not need to fear evil, "for THOU ART WITH ME". A good walk in the snow helps too or singing a song with one's husband as Ruth and her husband were doing tonight when I called them tonight. Let us live in gratitude.
