How to Show Care

Showing care to the people around you may seem daunting, but it may be simpler than you think.

Care often starts with simply paying attention. Look for the person who seems quiet, overwhelmed, or alone. A smile, a greeting, or remembering someone’s name can go a long way. When we slow down enough to notice people, we open the door for care.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is our attention. Ask how someone is doing—and really listen. You don’t need to have all the answers. Being present and compassionate often means more than trying to fix the situation.

If someone shares a struggle, offer to pray for them. It doesn’t have to be complicated or long—just sincere. Let them know they’re not walking alone, and continue praying for them throughout the week. Invite them to a pray with one of our Elders after a gathering, and maybe offer to go with them.

Care becomes tangible when we take action. It might be sending an encouraging message, bringing a meal, helping with a practical need, or checking in during the week. Small acts of kindness often make a big impact.

If someone needs further support, you can help connect them to our Care Team. Submit a request through the Care Form for follow up. Our team and community will come alongside them with prayer, encouragement, and practical care. If no follow up is needed, invite them to share their need on our Prayer Wall.

I’m Ashley. Long story, but my mum Glenda, has a bunch of online jobs, and 1 job (VIPTEACHER) unexpectedly gave her a bunch of bookings with ESL students. Worry about getting other things done, she usually asks for too much; not everything gets done, and this job will make it worse, as she needs my help with that job. She makes me get up with her and help her and will go without sleep for quite a while. Hope I don’t get my period for a while, as she can’t stand me when I am a mental mess, and seems to be overly obsessed with smell, her hair, her weight, and other things. What makes it worse is that my dad is getting surgery soon, and my mum wants a lot done, and hopes that no job interferes with my dad’s surgery. Hope he survives it. Help me go through what I must deal with for the next while and hope that no job interferes with my dad’s surgery. My mum has severe mental health issues! Heal her!

Hello, please join my in prayer for my 11 year old daughter. Please pray that she will develop strong friendships with people who encourage her to live in a God-pleasing way and that she does the same for them. Let her feel welcomed and included, know her worth and value, and be empathetic to those who feel left out.

Please pray that the Holy Spirit’s voice is the loudest voice in her hear, giving her wisdom and knowledge as she makes decisions and forms an understanding of her role in this world.

Let’s also pray for all children, that the will know their worth, live to their potential and grow with a desire to be close to God throughout their life.
