Mary Anne’s Story

“God, what do you want me to do?” What’s my next step? Questions that Mary Anne had pleaded with God, until she found her answer.

Mary Anne Morales has been a familiar face at OneChurch.to for years, attending with her husband, Angel, who serves and leads many areas. However, it was during the pandemic in 2020 that her life really changed. Mary Anne, a successful real estate agent for over 25 years, felt that there was more to life than this and embarked on a journey with God.

With the guidance of her mentor and pastor, Mary Anne’s faith grew. She began inviting friends, family, clients, and fellow realtors to study the Bible with her weekly. Many of them chose to do life with Jesus, and some even attend OneChurch.to!

From minding her own business, she is now intentionally making it her business to get to know this vibrant church community. You can find her hugging and greeting others in the lobby, serving at the Food Bank on Tuesdays, or as a host in Alpha on Wednesday nights among other things. Once reserved, she now intentionally connects with others, sharing stories of God’s goodness.

Mary Anne’s journey taught her that when God calls you, He equips you. During the pandemic, she felt the importance of reaching out to people, and many welcomed the invitation to join online Bible studies, which grew to 30 participants who remained engaged.

Participating in Alpha helped her discover her “why.” Initially attending herself, she later led a table, facilitating discussions that allowed people to share their fears and experiences. The group fostered a sense of family, where members felt heard and supported, transforming their pain into a shared journey of faith.

Mary Anne’s real estate business flourished alongside her commitment to serving the community. She found a joy that no commission could provide, emphasizing the importance of making space for others and putting God first. Her newfound joy is a gift, stemming from her willingness to connect and share her faith with others.

Encouraging others, she shares this verse from the Bible: “God is able to work everything for our good.” She believes that every experience is valuable, urging those hesitant to take the first step to join a group of believers. By seeking God, they will find their own stories of transformation, just as she has.
